Translation
Once we create the translation, we breathe life into it by generating audio that harmonises seamlessly with the original video. This means that the voices you hear will match the speaker's characteristics, making the video experience more engaging and authentic.
Audio creation
Our final step involves matching the audio files with the original content. However, during the process, the length of the audio files may change, posing a challenge in maintaining synchronization without losing the meaning of the content. To tackle this, we've developed our own clever algorithms that correct for speed variations and ensure a seamless match with the original video.

We want to make your content reach every corner of the world by creating a translated version of the original content, automatically, efficiently, and with the best possible quality.
We started building Locamate in 2021 to address a pressing need for video localisation/dubbing. Many markets and cultures face limited content availability due to language barriers. In Estonia, with less than 1 million fluent speakers, this issue was particularly prominent. The idea took shape during a family dinner conversation, sparked by the frustration of losing access to a beloved show when it changed platforms and wasn't available locally. Non-translated versions couldn't replace the original language, resulting in a loss of meaning and cherished content. This inspired our mission.
We recognized that influencing original content creators and distributors would be challenging. However, we focused on creating a faster, more flexible solution that could empower a wide range of content creators to tackle this problem on major platforms like YouTube. Thus, Locamate was born. Our mission is to provide a lean, fast, and flexible solution that automatically translates videos and generates new audio tracks in different languages.
